Rhen Miles (she/her)
Rhen (she/her) has a vivid memory of seeing her first physical theater performance in Portland when she was in high school (come full circle it was at the Echo theater/DoJump!). At the time and for many years to come she believed that although what she saw was something she deeply desired to do, that super magical powers and skill were needed that she was simply not capable of. In 2013, Rhen began taking classes as an adult and soon redirected her energies to many hours of training, coaching, performing, producing, and creating programming for circus performance with a social justice focus.
Rhen has performed locally and with Circus Sessions in Toronto; produced several shows as M.F.Motion, and developed and facilitated Voice Project, a youth participatory performance program. She loves contortion, cloud swing, sling, and collaborative, multidisciplinary performance. Rhen is currently involved with American Circus Educators (ACE) Social Circus Committee and additionally works as a clinical social worker.
