Gwen O’Brien (she/her)

A childhood love of the circus and background in rhythmic gymnastics lead Gwen to her first aerial class in 2012. Gwen specializes in dance trapeze, partnering, and Chinese pole but has taken the stage with and coached most aerial and ground acrobatic disciplines. Her multidisciplinary background has taken her across the country in performance, coaching, and choreographic roles. 

Currently Gwen resides in Bend, OR where she is pursuing her doctorate in physical therapy with a goal of providing circus bodies with tailored rehabilitative care. 

Gwen's coaching style emphasizes sustainable movement patterns, strong technical foundations, and creative expiration. She is delighted to be coaching online contortion offerings through the Echo Theater Company.
